You will need to bring:
Sewing machine with power cable, thread and materials you wish to use for the project, your favourite sewing notions and preferably a spill proof cup (to avoid accidents).
Plan for the day:
Suzanne will start with a presentation / trunk show of projects she has designed and made using the machine pieced cathedral window technique that we will be learning how to do.
She will break down the project into sections and give close up demonstrations to attendees split into smaller groups, so that everyone gets a chance to see. She will also be able to give one on one help throughout the day and is available to answer questions later.
Each attendee will receive a printed copy on the day of the Lincoln Cushion pattern with Suzanne’s how to guide on the machine pieced technique
In addition, Suzanne has kindly offered a 20% discount to be used when buying any of her products from her online shop and she will bring them with her on the day, to save postage!
A supplies list will be sent out in advance of the workshop along with the discount code to be used in Suzanne's shop, but you don't need to buy anything specific for the workshop.
Please note that payment for this session is non-refundable and must be paid via immediate bank transfer to guarantee your place (bank details will be included at the bottom of your ticket sent via email after booking).
The North East Modern Quilt Guild started up in May 2015 and welcomes new people as we look forward to growing our community group in our pop up home at the Shipley Art Gallery on the second Saturday of every month.
A bit more about Suzanne in her own words:
My passion for textile design, in particular constructed textiles, led me to study weave design at university where I was always fascinated by the play of colour, texture and scale I am particularly drawn to the detail and quality of Liberty fabrics.
I love exploring new ways of fussy cutting designs, seeing fresh shapes and patterns that are unique and beautiful - so much so that over recent years I have been given the unofficial title of “Queen of Fussycutting”!
I have been commissioned by Liberty Fabrics to design several English Paper Pieced projects from their quilting collections, including the Somerset Garden quilt from the Heirloom Collection which was showcased at the Festival of Quilts in 2023.
More recently I was invited to host a quilting workshop series in Liberty London, teaching the art of fussy cutting for English paper piecing
